Early Life and Family

On April 28, 1983, in Frunze, Kyrgyz SSR, singer and composer Asankaly Kerimbaev welcomed his son, Zhanat Kerimbaev. At just two months old, Zhanat lost his father, Isakzhan. He spent his early years in Uzbekistan with his mother, two brothers, and sister.

Education and Creative Beginnings

Zhanat returned to Kyrgyzstan at the age of eight. He attended school in Toktogul and became involved in the arts in high school under the mentorship of fellow townsman Ryspai Abdykadyrov. After graduating, he joined the Toktogul Regional People's Theater. Zhanat went on to earn a degree from the University of Culture and Arts named after Bubusara Beishenalieva and worked at the Toktogul National and Kyrgyz Drama Theaters, as well as the State Committee for Television and Broadcasting.

Musical Lineage and Recognition

Zhanat's father, Asankaly, was a renowned musician known for his mastery of the accordion. He achieved fame in the 1970s but only received the title of People's Artist in 1996, three years before his passing. Asankaly was a laureate of the Chingiz Aitmatov International Prize and a winner of the All-Union Festival of Folk Creativity and other national contests.

KVN and Comedy

During his university years, Zhanat became a member of the KVN team "Znak Kachestva" at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The team, which later became "Narodny Styl," included Eldiyar Kenensarov, Vasily Kutsenko, and Sergei Dustimov. They gained popularity as part of the "Kyrgyzstan KVN Team," winning the Central Ural League in 2005 and advancing to the First League the following year.

Acting and Screenwriting

In 2008, Kenensarov, Kutsenko, and Zhanat joined the "Tsvet Natsii" project on the Russian TV channel STS. Zhanat, who was previously involved with Yellow, Black, and White Group, contributed to the live broadcast on KTRK and became a member of the creative association KG Club, which launched the sketch comedy series "Bolshie Lyudi." In Moscow, Zhanat successfully wrote scripts for popular shows such as "Daesh Molodezhu!" and "6 Kadrov" and series like "Kitchen," "Hotel Eleon," and "Grand."

Personal Life and Recognition

Zhanat Kerimbaev is a private person who keeps his personal life out of the public eye. He is adored by his fans, who often request his presence in interviews and on social media. In 2018, he confessed that he had yet to find the one he would call his wife.

Current Status

Zhanat's cinematic journey continues with the fifth and final season of "Grand," which premiered on September 13, 2021. In the series, he plays the role of Aibek Semes, the nephew of the charismatic Aynura Kenensarova. Through the course of the show, Aibek has risen from Assistant Chief Engineer of the Grand Lion boutique hotel to Deputy Manager of the Grand eco-hotel.
