Formation and Early Beginnings

On December 21, 1999, the band "Zimnyy Landshaft" (Winter Landscape) was formed by Yegor Astapchenko (vocals, guitar, lyrics) and Nikita Popov (vocals, lyrics). By June 2000, the band's lineup had evolved to include Astapchenko, Sergey Khutornoy (guitar, lyrics), and Dmitry Shabanov. During this period, they performed as an acoustic trio.

Electric Explorations and the "143rd Consignee" Album

In March 2001, Alexander Demchenko (bass guitar) and Dreiy (guitar) joined the duo, marking the band's transition to electric rehearsals. Their efforts culminated in a house concert on July 3rd. Shortly after, they recorded the album "143y Gruzopoluchatel" (143rd Consignee), which drew comparisons to bands like "Grazhdanskaya Oborona," "Kino," and "Nirvana."

Festival Appearances and the Release of "Ten"

In autumn, Zimnyy Landshaft performed at the Street Musicians Festival, where they played their song "Kapitalizm" acoustic. From September to December, they rehearsed new material. On January 11, 2002, they recorded the album "Desyat" (Ten).

Band Dynamics and a New Album

The band experienced a period of inactivity due to the lack of a bass guitarist. However, in June, they performed at a house concert with the bands "Vnuchata Ilyicha" and "Alarm." In July, instruments were exchanged between Alexander and Sergey. Zimnyy Landshaft resumed rehearsals and prepared for the Street Musicians Festival. Despite a mix-up on the day of the performance, they played their song "Krugloye Nebo" to the delight of a local celebrity. On November 29th, they released a new album, "Nastroyeniye" (Mood), showcasing a notable departure from their previous sound.

A Growing Fanbase and a Solo Concert

By June 2003, Zimnyy Landshaft's music had reached over 80 listeners. They played their first solo concert in December at the Voronezh Art School.

Second Rehearsal Space and the Khokholskiy Rock Festival

In April 2003, the band secured a rehearsal space at the "Finist" factory after contacting the Voronezh Communist Party. They also performed at the Khokholskiy Rock Festival in May, where Artem Tkachenko took over on drums.

Media Recognition and Future Plans

The summer of 2003 marked Zimnyy Landshaft's debut on the iconic stage in front of the Puppet Theater. They also received press coverage in the "Voronezhsky Kuryer." The band aspired to continue playing live, seek new rehearsal spaces, and participate in future festivals.
