Ziyoatkhon Hoshimova: First Lady of Uzbekistan

Ziyoatkhon Hoshimova is the wife of Uzbekistan's current president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. She has been the First Lady of Uzbekistan since 2016.

Early Life and Education

Hoshimova was born in Kokand, Fergana Region. She graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration with a degree in engineering economics.

Family Background

Hoshimova's father, Makhmudjon Hoshimov, was a prominent figure in Kokand. He was said to be one of the wealthiest and most influential people in the Fergana Valley. Little is known about her mother.

Marriage and Family

Hoshimova met her husband, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, while studying at the Tashkent Agricultural Institute. Despite her family's objections, they married in 1978. They have two daughters, Shahnoza and Saida, and a son, Miralisher.

Public Appearances

During the presidency of Islam Karimov, Hoshimova rarely appeared on state television or made public appearances. However, since her husband's election as president, she has accompanied him on several foreign trips and attended numerous state events.

International Outreach

Hoshimova is the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the International Public Foundation "Zamon". In a speech delivered on behalf of the foundation, she declared that disability "is no longer a medical problem, but a problem of human rights."
