Early Career

Zosimo Alves Calazans, a prominent Brazilian footballer, began his career at the age of 16 with "São Cristóvão." In 1951, he joined "Bangu," a Rio de Janeiro-based club, and became a beloved icon among fans, playing for the team for 14 years.

International Success

Zosimo made his debut for the Brazilian national team in 1955. He played a vital role in Brazil's two World Cup victories in 1958 and 1962. Out of 37 international matches with Zosimo on the field, Brazil won 25 and lost only five. In addition to his World Cup titles, Zosimo also helped Brazil win the Copa Bernardo O'Higgins in 1955, the Copa Atlântico in 1956, and the Copa Oswaldo Cruz three times (in 1956, 1958, and 1962).

Late Career and Coaching

Towards the end of his playing career, Zosimo represented Flamengo, Fluminense, and Portuguesa. He ended his professional playing days with "Águia" in Salvador, Brazil. After retiring, he served as head coach for "Águia," "Sport Boys" in Peru, and "Deportivo Municipal."

Tragic End

On October 13, 1977, Zosimo tragically passed away in a car accident at the age of 45. He left behind a legacy as a renowned Brazilian footballer and a cherished member of the "Bangu" club.
