Aaron Burckhard: Nirvana's Second Drummer

Aaron Burckhard joined Kurt Cobain's band as their second drummer, following Bob McFadden. The band would later evolve into Nirvana, and Burckhard remained a member until December 1987.

Nirvana's Predecessor

By the time Nirvana recorded their first demo in Seattle, Burckhard had departed the group, replaced by Dale Crover of The Melvins. Cobain had grown dissatisfied with Burckhard's commitment to the band.

Early Contributions

Burckhard's drumming can be heard on the first disc of the compilation album "With The Lights Out." He performed on Nirvana's first live performance in Raymond, Washington, in 1987. Burckhard also played with the band on KAOS radio on April 17, 1987.

Post-Nirvana Career

In 2005, Burckhard recorded an album with the band Attica. His drumming on Nirvana's first demo and live performances remains a testament to his early involvement in one of the most influential bands of all time.
