Childhood and Education

Aaron Mooy, an Australian football midfielder, grew up in Carlingford, a suburb of Sydney. As a child, he would wake up early to watch Australian footballers Craig Moore and Tony Vidovic before heading off to school. He attended Crestwood Public School in North-Western Sydney for his early education, later continuing his studies at Westfield Sports High School.

Early Career

Mooy began his youth career with the New South Wales Institute of Sport, followed by stints with Bolton Wanderers and St. Mirren. He returned to Sydney in 2012 to play for Western Sydney Wanderers and moved to Melbourne two years later to join Melbourne City.

Manchester City and Beyond

In June 2016, Melbourne City announced Mooy's departure to Manchester City, where he signed a three-year contract with the English club. In addition to his Australian passport, Mooy also holds a Dutch passport, being of German and Dutch descent through his father and mother, respectively.
