To the surprise of many, King Hussein bin Talal named al-Kabariti as Jordan's Prime Minister in 1996. During his tenure, he initiated significant reforms, fostered a more open relationship with the media, and pursued closer ties with Syria and Israel. However, relations with Iraq became less cordial.

Later Career

After concluding his premiership in 1997, al-Kabariti went on to serve as Chief of the Royal Court in 1999. He continued to play an influential role in Jordanian politics, advocating for social and economic progress.
