The Birth of a Musician

In Tennessee, Washburn crossed paths with a member of the band Uncle Earl, who encouraged her to perform at a music festival in North Carolina. Her song "Rockabye Dixie" captivated the audience, earning her second place and the attention of Nettwerk Music Group, with whom she later recorded her debut album.

The Sparrow Quartet and Beyond

In 2005, Washburn once again traveled to China with a musical ensemble called the Sparrow Quartet. The quartet, which featured Washburn alongside three other talented musicians (including Grammy Award-winning violinist Casey Driessen), quickly gained popularity.

A Passion for Banjo

Washburn's love for the banjo blossomed early on, but it was after hearing the renowned musician Doc Watson play that her dedication to the instrument solidified. She continues to draw inspiration from Chinese culture, incorporating its traditions into her own music.

A Captivating Artist

Abigail Washburn's music continues to captivate audiences, and fans eagerly await her upcoming releases. Her unique blend of traditional and contemporary styles, coupled with her authenticity and passion, has cemented her place as one of the most respected and beloved singer-songwriters of our time.
