Biography of Absurd
Absurd is a popular German music group that plays black metal. The band was formed in the small town of Thuringian by musicians Wolf, Sebastian 'DMD' S., and Hendrik 'JFN' M. They had a dream of becoming famous and decided to create their own project in response to the New Wave of Black Metal. The exact reason behind the choice of the band's name is unknown, but some believe it was closely related to the musicians' activities at the time.
The trio was very young, with the musicians all being under nineteen years old. However, they were hardworking and talented, which allowed them to release their promotional project, God's Death, in the summer of 1992. Later that year, they created a demo version of Death from the Forest, which caught the attention of potential fans.
Over time, conflicts arose within the group, leading to a reduction in the number of members to just two. The musicians were later involved in a criminal case and faced legal consequences. Despite being imprisoned, the duo did not stop their creative activities. In fact, they even collaborated with a local musician and continued to write songs.
During their time in prison, the band evolved both ideologically and creatively, with their songs becoming more serious and lyrical. In 1998, the musicians were released and officially revived the group. After some time, they recorded the album Asgardsrei, which was well received by a large army of Absurd fans.
In 1999, one of the duo members, Hendrik 'JFN' M., was forced to leave Germany and part ways with the band. However, despite this setback, the group managed to release another album titled Werwolfthron at the end of 2000.
Throughout their career, Absurd also participated in the creation of various compilations, including Blood and Honour, Common Reich, Freundeskreis der heimatverbundenen Germanen, Germania Incognita, The Night And The Fog, The Night And The Fog Part II, and Tribute to Absurd.
