Formation and Early Releases
Adept, a Swedish post-hardcore/metalcore band, emerged in 2004 in the town of Tråvad. The group's origins lie in Tråvad, where the founding members met and performed their first concerts. That same year, they released their debut demo, "Hopeless Illusions."
Their first EP, "When the Sun Gave Up the Sky," surfaced a year later, self-produced like many other underground bands of that era. A similar approach was taken with their second EP, "The Rose Will Decay."
Partnership with Panic & Action
Amidst their growing popularity in their homeland, Adept caught the attention of Panic & Action, which offered them a contract. On February 4, 2009, the band released their first full-length album, "Another Year of Disaster."
In 2010, Adept embarked on a German tour alongside Her Bright Skies, also signed to Panic & Action. The tour encompassed six cities: Hamburg, Berlin, Osnabrück, Munich, Stuttgart, and Cologne.
Breakthrough with "Death Dealers"
August 2010 marked the beginning of work on their next album. They enlisted Fredrik Nordström, a renowned producer known for his collaborations with In Flames, Bring Me The Horizon, and At The Gates. The result, "Death Dealers," was released on March 11, 2011.
That same year, Adept released a cover of Crashdiet's "Riot In Everyone" as a single. Their third album, "Silence the World," followed on March 22, 2013.
"Sleepless" and Lineup Changes
On April 17, 2015, Adept unveiled the single "Dark Clouds." It was also announced that they had parted ways with Panic & Action for undisclosed reasons.
The release of their fourth full-length, "Sleepless," was initially scheduled for September 4, 2015. However, the band postponed the release due to concerns about recouping recording costs, partly attributed to insufficient promotion. It was also revealed that the album had to be recorded twice at their own expense due to production errors.
During their Russian tour, Adept debuted two new songs: "Carry The Weight" and "Choirs Of Absolution." On November 19, 2015, it was announced that Adept had signed with Napalm Records, who released the album on February 19, 2016.
Live Shows and Line-up Changes
Between 2011 and 2013, Adept performed annual concerts in Saint Petersburg and Moscow. In 2015, with the support of Booking Machine Agency, they embarked on a tour that covered 12 Russian cities, as well as Kiev and Minsk.
They played for the first time in Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnodar. The initial setlist of 15 songs was expanded to 17 during the tour.
In 2016, Adept returned to Russia and Belarus for a headlining tour of 11 cities, this time supported by Spika Concert Agency. The tour was billed as a "farewell" for guitarist Jerry Repo and drummer Gabriel Hellmark, who departed immediately after.
In November 2018, Adept announced an 8-city tour of Russia with CRYSTAL LAKE for spring 2019.
