Early Life and Family

Adil Osmanov was born on July 2nd, 2000, to a family with Azerbaijani-Moldovan roots. His father hails from the city of Khachmaz in Azerbaijan, while his mother is from Moldova. Osmanov's paternal relatives reside in Baku and Khachmaz.

Early Career Success

Osmanov's sporting career began with a string of victories. In August 2018, he triumphed at the European Junior Cup. The following year, he secured a silver medal at the same tournament and placed second at the European Junior Championships in September.

Transition to Senior Category

As Osmanov transitioned to the senior category, his success continued. In October 2021, he won the European Senior Cup, showcasing his aspirations on the international stage. He followed this by finishing third at the European U23 Judo Championships in November 2021 and October 2022.

International Achievements

2023 ushered in further accomplishments. Osmanov captured a bronze medal at the prestigious Grand Prix in Linz in May. In March 2024, he repeated his success at this tournament, defeating Azerbaijani judoka Rashid Mammadaliyev in the final. Later that month, Osmanov delivered a stellar performance at the Grand Slam in Antalya, once again facing Mammadaliyev and claiming the gold medal.

Olympic Glory

At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Adil Osmanov clinched a bronze medal, overcoming Italian judoka Manuel Lombardo in the third-place match.

Community Involvement

Beyond his sporting achievements, Osmanov активно участвует in social life. He is a member of the council of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova, where he supports the Azerbaijani community and organizes events that preserve cultural traditions, such as the celebration of Novruz.
