Military Career
Saint-Cyr and the General Staff AcademyIn 1884, the young soldier graduated from the prestigious Saint-Cyr Military School. Subsequently, in 1905, he joined the elite General Staff Academy.
Service in Marine Infantry and Suppression of the Boxer Rebellion
His military service included a stint in the Marine Infantry. He also actively participated in quelling the Boxer Rebellion in 1903.
