Biography of Adrian-Mihai Chioroșanu
Born on January 5, 1967, in Craiova, Romania, Adrian-Mihai Chioroșanu is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania. He has played a significant role in shaping Romania's foreign policy and has been a strong advocate for the European Union, Moldova, and Russia.
Education and Academic Career
In 1993, Chioroșanu completed his studies at the Faculty of History at the University of Bucharest, where he currently lectures. He obtained his doctorate in 2002 from a university in Canada, defending a dissertation on the contemporary history of Romania, the history of communism in Eastern Europe, and media development. Chioroșanu has also co-authored history textbooks for senior classes in Romanian schools.
Political Career
Chioroșanu joined the National Liberal Party (NLP) in 2002 and was elected as a senator from the party in the parliamentary elections of 2004. He served as the chairman of the Committee on Culture, Arts, and Mass Media. In January 2007, he was appointed as the head of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs. Additionally, Chioroșanu represents the NLP in the faction of liberal parties in the European Parliament.
