Mohamed Fathallah: A Talented Egyptian Midfielder

Mohamed Fathallah is an Egyptian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Egyptian club Al-Ahly and the Egyptian national team.

Club Career

Early Career at Ismaily

Fathallah began his football career with Egyptian club Ismaily in his hometown. He spent six seasons with the club, winning the Egyptian Premier League title in his first season (2001/02). In 2003, he was part of the team that reached the final of the CAF Champions League.

Transfer to England

In January 2007, Fathallah joined English Premier League club Sheffield United for £700,000. He made his debut in a match against Tottenham Hotspur in February and played in the following two matches against Liverpool and Everton. Sheffield United was relegated to the English Football League Championship at the end of the season.

Return to Egypt with Al-Ahly

In September 2007, Fathallah returned to Egypt, signing for Al-Ahly for €700,000. As he was acquired after the transfer window, he was ineligible to play for the club until winter 2008. To maintain his fitness, he was loaned to Kuwaiti club Kazma in November 2007.

Since rejoining Al-Ahly in 2008, Fathallah has been a regular starter. He has won eight Egyptian Premier League titles, three CAF Champions League titles, and the CAF Super Cup with the club. He also represented Al-Ahly in the FIFA Club World Cup, where the team finished sixth.

International Career

Fathallah has represented Egypt at both youth and senior levels.
Youth Career

He played for the Egypt U-20 team at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, where the team reached the Round of 16.

Senior Career

Fathallah made his senior international debut in 2002. He was part of the Egypt team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2006, 2008, and 2010. He also played in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.
