Early Career and Rise in Nigeria

Ahmed Musa began his football journey at the Aminchi Football Academy. His early talent was evident during his loan spells at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) and Kano Pillars. In the 2009/10 season, he broke the Nigerian Premier League record with an impressive 18 goals for Kano Pillars.

Move to Europe and Debut

In 2010, Musa joined Dutch club VVV-Venlo at the age of 17. Despite regulations preventing his immediate debut, he marked his first appearance with a penalty earned on October 30th. He continued to impress, earning recognition in Goal.com's lists of young stars and top Nigerian players abroad.

Transfer to CSKA Moscow

After attracting interest from Tottenham and Ajax, Musa made a significant move to CSKA Moscow in January 2012. He signed a five-year contract and debuted in the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid. In his Russian Premier League debut, he scored the equalizing goal against Zenit.

International Career

Musa's international debut for Nigeria came in 2010. He participated in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, contributing three goals and earning a nomination for the Adidas Golden Ball. He made his senior international mark with a goal against Kenya in 2011.
