Biography of Ai Otsuka

Ai Otsuka is a Japanese singer, poet, composer, pianist, and actress. She regularly releases new creations under the label 'Avex Trax' and is best known for her 2003 hit 'Sakuranbo', which stayed on the 'Top 200 Oricon Weekly Singles Chart' for 103 weeks.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Otsuka started playing the piano at the age of 4 and soon began writing her own melodies and lyrics. Even at a young age, her music varied greatly, ranging from catchy rock and pop compositions like 'Happy Days' and 'Sakuranbo' to tender ballads such as 'Kingyo Hanabi', 'Daisuki da yo', 'Planetarium', and 'Kurage, Nagareboshi'.

Rise to Fame

In 2003, Otsuka released her first single, 'Momo no Hanabira', which was warmly received and reached the 24th position on the 'Top 100 Oricon weekly singles' chart. Although it remained in the top 100 for only 21 weeks, it set the foundation for her career. In December 2003, Otsuka released her second single, the legendary 'Sakuranbo'. This song propelled her to stardom, climbing the charts and reaching the top five, where it stayed for two years.

Continued Success

Following her initial success, Otsuka continued to release new singles, delighting her ever-growing fan base. Motherhood and Future

In the spring of 2011, Otsuka briefly interrupted her active career when she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on March 24th.
