- Graduated from Riga Secondary School No. 25 in 1981
- Graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Latvia in 1986
- Obtained a degree in business administration from the Latvian Banking College in 1999
- Completed the Higher Banking School of Latvia in 2001, specializing in economics
Legal and Business Career
- Began working as a senior investigator in the Riga District Prosecutor's Office in 1985
- Served as an assistant chairman of the "Tervete" agricultural firm from 1988 to 1990
- Became a judge in the Jurmala City Court in 1990
- Briefly worked as deputy director general of the State Land Service of Latvia in 1993
- Led the World Bank and European Union project for rural development in Latvia from 1993 to 2001
- Became a sworn advocate in the law firm "Brigis, Capkevics and Partners" in 2001
Political Journey
