Biography of Alberto Bailleres
Alberto Bailleres is a Mexican businessman and the owner of the holding company "Grupo Bal". He is currently ranked third in terms of wealth among Mexicans and ninth in Latin America, according to Forbes magazine.
Early Life and Career
Born as the son of Raul Bailleres, Alberto Bailleres took over the reins of the family business, "Grupo Bal". The history of one of its subsidiary companies, "Industrias Penoles", dates back more than a hundred years to 1887. At the time, several mines were located in the Sierra de Penoles region in the state of Durango, during the presidency of Porfirio Diaz.
Expansion and Success
Under Alberto Bailleres' leadership, "Industrias Penoles" experienced significant growth and success. From 1980 to 1960, the company merged with various mining enterprises, establishing itself as the second-largest and most valuable Mexican company in the mining industry. It has active mining operations throughout Mexico, as well as development projects in South America. The company produces approximately 80.5 million ounces of silver and 756,100 ounces of gold annually, making it a global leader in production.
