Early Career and "Blue Ballet"
Alberto Quintano, a Chilean soccer player, began his career at the renowned "Blue Ballet" (Ballet Azul) of Universidad de Chile in 1965. During his tenure with the club, he achieved great success, winning three Chilean championships and becoming the record holder for appearances in the Copa Libertadores.
Mexico and Cruz Azul
In 1971, Quintano embarked on a six-season journey with Cruz Azul in Mexico. Alongside Javier Guzmán, he formed a formidable defensive partnership. During his time with the Mexican club, he captured three Mexican championships and the 1971 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Return to Chile and International Success
Quintano returned to Universidad de Chile in 1977, where he lifted the Chilean Cup before moving to Universidad Catolica in 1981 and Magallanes in 1982. At the international level, he earned his debut for Chile in 1967 and represented his country at the 1974 FIFA World Cup and the 1979 Copa America, where Chile reached the final.

Quintano formed a remarkable defensive duo with Elias Figueroa at the 1974 FIFA World Cup, contributing to Chile's strong performance in the tournament.
Later Career and Retirement
Quintano concluded his playing career with Magallanes in 1982. He accumulated 47 official appearances for the Chilean national team, recording 15 wins, 12 draws, and 20 defeats.
