Early Life and Development
Kylian Mbappé Lottin, a French professional footballer of Cameroonian descent, was born on December 20, 1998, in Bondy, France. His father, Wilfried, originally from Cameroon, worked as a football coach at the local Bondy club. His mother, Fayza (née Lamari), descended from Algerian immigrants, was a professional handball player. Mbappé's father had an adopted son, Jires Kembo-Ekoko, who also became a professional footballer.
With his father's support, Mbappé joined the Clairefontaine academy, a prestigious football academy that had produced the likes of Thierry Henry and Lilian Thuram. Despite the distance he had to travel for training, Mbappé's father ensured his son's consistent attendance. At the age of 13, Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane attempted to lure Mbappé to Spain, but after consulting with his father, the young striker decided to remain in France.
