Edgardo Obregón: A Uruguayan and Italian footballer

Edgar Alfredo Obregón (born 7 September 1930 in Montevideo, Uruguay) began his professional career in 1946 with Sud América. He then moved to Argentinean club Atlanta Buenos Aires in 1947.

Success with Peñarol

In 1948, Obregón joined Peñarol, where he played for four years. During his time at the club, he lifted two Uruguayan championships in 1949 and 1951.

Move to Italy and European Success

In 1953, Obregón made a significant move to Italy, joining Roma. He made 201 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and helping them secure the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1961.
