Early Career and Domestic Success

Petr Vašek is a Czech goalkeeper who began his professional career with FC Opava in 2001. In 2005, he joined FC Baník Ostrava, where he won the Czech Cup in 2004/05 and reached the final in 2005/06. After a brief loan spell at FC Kladno in 2006/07, Vašek returned to Baník Ostrava and remained there until 2009.

Move to FC Slovácko and Debut in the Russian Premier League

In 2009/10, Vašek played for FC Slovácko before joining Russian club FC Sibir Novosibirsk in August 2010. He made his Russian Premier League debut on September 20 against PFC CSKA Moscow and quickly established himself as Sibir's starting goalkeeper. However, an injury sustained in a game against FC Dynamo Moscow forced him to miss the end of the season.

FC Sibir, FC Tom Tomsk, and Return to Baník Ostrava

Vašek signed a two-year contract extension with Sibir in November 2010, but was replaced by Nikolai Tsygan as the starting goalkeeper in the following season. In late 2011, Sibir listed Vašek on the transfer list, and his contract was mutually terminated in February 2012. He subsequently joined FC Tom Tomsk, where he was named the team's best player after the 2011/12 season. Vašek extended his contract with Tom Tomsk for two more years in June 2012.

In the summer of 2016, Vašek returned to Baník Ostrava, signing a one-year contract with his former club.
