Early Career and Olympic BreakthroughAlex Gough(born May 12, 1987) is a renowned Canadian luger who has represented her country on the international stage since 2003. Her breakthrough came at the 2011 World Championships in Cesana-Torinese, where she claimed a historic bronze medal for Canada in the women's singles event.
Competing in the Olympics
Goughhas participated in two Winter Olympics. In 2006, she competed in Turin but did not advance beyond the qualification rounds. In 2010, she achieved her best Olympic result with an 18th-place finish in Vancouver.
World Championship Success
Goughhas excelled at the World Championships, capturing two medals in 2013 at Whistler, Canada. She won bronze in the women's singles and silver in the team relay. In 2014, she competed in the Sochi Olympics, finishing fourth in the women's singles and team relay events.
