Early Life and CareerBorn on January 26, 1991, in Catanduva, Brazil, Alex Sandro began his football journey in the youth academy of Clube Atlético Paranaense. He made his professional debut for the senior team in 2008 and played 17 matches in total, with 15 of them in 2009.
In 2010, Alex Sandro moved to Santos Futebol Clube. Despite playing only one match in the Campeonato Paulista, he helped his team win the tournament. In the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, he gradually became a regular starter. He played in five matches in the Copa do Brasil that year and helped Santos win the trophy, which earned them a berth in the 2011 Copa Libertadores.
Success with Santos
2011 proved to be a breakout year for Alex Sandro at Santos. He started as a key player in the team's victorious second consecutive Campeonato Paulista campaign and went on to play a crucial role in their triumphant Copa Libertadores run. He appeared in 11 of 14 matches in the competition and featured in both the final matches against Peñarol. Despite being replaced in the first leg, he came off the bench in the second leg and helped seal Santos' third Copa Libertadores title.

Transfer to Porto
