Early Life and Career
> Paul Newmanwas born on July 9, 1969, and debuted as a professional wrestler in 1987. He gained prominence as Cannonball Grizzlyin the European promotion CWA, where he debuted in 1989.
WCW and Rivalry with Steve Austin
> Returning to the United States in 1991, Newman signed with WCW and debuted as PN Newsin May. He quickly engaged in a feud with World Television Champion "Stunning" Steve Austin, teaming with "Gorgeous" Bobby Eatonto defeat Austin and Terry Taylor at the Great American Bash. However, News lost to Austin in a title match at Clash of the Champions XVII.
Departure from WCW and CWA Return
> After his rivalry with Austin, News dropped down the ranks and wrestled his final WCW match on January 21, 1992, defeating Diamond Dallas Page at Clash of the Champions XVIII. He returned to CWA as Cannonball Grizzly in late 1992 and formed a tag team with John Hawk, capturing the World Tag Team Championship from August Smisl and Ulf Herman.
Success in CWA
> In 1996, Grizzly and Jesse James Armstrong became World Tag Team Champions, but lost the titles to Smisl and Herman. They regained the championship and held it until July 1997. Grizzly left CWA in 1998.
ECW and "The Baldies"
> As PN News, he debuted in ECW on September 17, 1999, and joined "Da Baldies", a faction of bald wrestlers. The group, including Spanish Angel, Tony DeVito, Vito LoGrasso, and News, defeated New Jack, Axl Rotten, and Balls Mahoney in a handicap match at November to Remember.
Later Career
> Paul Newman later wrestled for the EWP and All Star Wrestling in the UK. He won the EWP Heavyweight Championship, defeating Bam Bam Bigelow, but lost it to Thunder on November 26, 2003. He continues to wrestle on the independent circuit in Europe as Cannonball Grizzly, PN News, Rampaster, and Ironman.
