Early Career and Beginnings at Sumy
Alexander Bandura is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Minai Football Club. His football journey began in his hometown of Sumy, where he played for the youth academy of Smena Football School and SERZH Football School. In 2003, Bandura joined the amateur club Sumygaz.
Debut in the First League and Move to Tavriya
In the summer of 2004, Bandura made his professional debut for Sumy Spartak in the Ukrainian First League. He later had a brief stint with FC Yavor Krasnopolye before signing with Ukrainian Premier League club SC Tavriya Simferopol in February 2008.
Breakthrough at Tavriya
Bandura made his Premier League debut for Tavriya against FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in September 2008. In a game against FC Dynamo Kyiv the following month, he showcased his remarkable skills by saving two penalties. His performance earned him a two-year contract extension with Tavriya in November 2008.
Loan to Krymteplytsia and Contract Termination
In the summer of 2009, Bandura was sent on loan to Krymteplytsia Molodizhne. Despite being on trial with FC Metalurh Donetsk, he made his debut for Krymteplytsia in July 2009. In December 2009, Bandura terminated his contract with Tavriya.
Joining Metalurh Donetsk and National Team Call-Up
In early 2011, Bandura signed a three-year contract with FC Metalurh Donetsk. His impressive form led to a call-up to the Ukraine national team in preparation for the 2012 European Championship.
Stint with Stal Kamianske and Move to Lviv
Following Metalurh Donetsk's bankruptcy in 2015, Bandura joined FC Stal Kamianske, inheriting the number 12 jersey. He made his debut in the first round of the Ukrainian Premier League against FC Dynamo Kyiv.
Current Status at Minai
In the summer of 2018, Bandura moved to FC Lviv, where he played until January 2020. He currently plays for FC Minai.
