Early Life and Military Service
In 1976, the Ukrainian politician worked as a driver in the Kitsman Auto Transport Column No. 25032. From 1976 to 1978, he served in the USSR armed forces. Upon his return, he became an instructor in motor vehicles at the Stavchan Educational and Production Combine from 1978 to 1979.
Career in Industry and Public Service
From 1984 to 1986, he worked as a workshop foreman at the "Graviton" factory. He then joined the Chernivtsi Rubber and Footwear Factory as an electrician and senior foreman from 1986 to 1989.
In 1989, he transitioned into public service as an inspector in the Lenin District Committee of People's Control in Chernivtsi. From 1990 to 1998, he rose through the ranks of the State Tax Inspection in Chernivtsi, holding positions as senior inspector, head of the tax department, and first deputy head of the inspectorate.
Political Career
From 1998 to 2005, he served as chairman of the Kitsman District State Administration. He then became chairman of the State Tax Administration in Chernivtsi Oblast from 2005 to 2011.
In 2010, he was elected as a deputy to the Chernivtsi Oblast Rada, where he served until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, he was a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representing the "Batkivshchyna" electoral bloc.
Governorship of Chernivtsi Oblast
On February 5, 2015, he was appointed Chairman of the Chernivtsi Oblast State Administration by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. He held this position until November 23, 2018, when he was dismissed by presidential decree.
Education and Awards
In 1984, he graduated from the Physics Department of Chernivtsi State University. In 1992, he completed his studies at the Economics Department of Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovych, earning a degree in economics.
