Alexander Jay: A Biography
Alexander Jay, a stylist and model, is known as one of the most extravagant and enigmatic figures in the world of beauty and fame. He gained global recognition by participating in ranking projects and collaborating with famous couturiers. In the first season of the reality show "America's Next Top Model," Jay served as an assistant to Tyra Banks, the renowned model.

Born on April 12, 1958, in the impoverished neighborhood of South Bronx, New York City, not much is known about Jay's childhood and youth. However, his mother played a significant role in shaping his fashion career. She had a passion for fashion shows and constantly added new clothes to her wardrobe. Together with her son, she attended various social events. It was his mother who helped Jay create a unique and distinctive image, selecting cosmetics, fragrances, and other fashionable attributes for him. From a young age, Jay demonstrated his talent by sketching various outfits and creating his own collections with just a needle and thread. His exceptional talent could not go unnoticed.

One of the turning points in Jay's career was a meeting with the head of Elite Model Management, a globally recognized modeling agency. Jay presented himself to Monique Pillard in several female personas he had imagined, and impressed by his audacity, Monique signed a long-term contract with him. Soon, this young talent started modeling stunning collections with the "most ingenious designer of the late 20th century," Jean-Paul Gaultier. While Jay handled numerous responsibilities, including designing fashion show schedules, selecting scents and cosmetics for outfits, and staging shows behind the scenes, he remained in the shadows until he met Tyra Banks during a work session.

At the time, Banks was just beginning her ascent to the Fashion Olympus. Jay provided her with valuable recommendations, particularly regarding movements and how to carry oneself on the runway. Gradually, their acquaintance turned into friendship and collaboration. Banks introduced Jay to her circle as a skilled "runway specialist." Consequently, his client base started to grow rapidly. When Banks conceived the idea for a new reality show, she became its producer, host, and main judge for "America's Next Top Model." Jay was appointed as her assistant. Through his master classes, Jay proved that Banks rightfully bestowed upon him the title of "Runway Queen." However, he has another nickname, given to him by Robin Manning, a contestant from the show's first season. She called him "Miss Jay" when he appeared in an unconventional female persona during a competition. Almost immediately after this, Jay acquired the nickname "Mr. Jay" from the other host of the show, Jay Manuel. Within the framework of "America's Next Top Model," Alexander created costumes for the contestants, provided advice on creating looks for photoshoots, selecting makeup, and more. Miss Jay remained a consultant and judge on the show until the 14th season, when Krista White was crowned the winner. After that, Jay continued to showcase his talents in international versions of "Top Model," and today, he can be seen in the Canadian, Korean, Estonian, British, and Finnish versions.

Always ready to share his experience with aspiring fashion enthusiasts, Alexander wrote a book on how to make a name for oneself and win the love of the public. His first book, "Follow the Model," was released in 2010 and became a bestseller. Naturally, its sales success was partly due to the author's well-known name. However, reviewers assure that the work, which provides effective recipes for gaining self-confidence, will be valuable to young individuals who are just starting their ascent.

In addition to his career in the fashion industry and as a TV personality, Jay is also a creator of popular selective perfumes. Drawing inspiration from his impressions while visiting different cities and countries, he selects compositions for his luxury fragrances. The price range of his scents varies significantly, from 4 to 28 thousand rubles. While Jay prefers not to display his personal life, he has been open about his non-traditional preferences. It is also well-known that he had a serious relationship in the 2000s.
Moreover, Jay revealed that he has a son named Boris, whose biological father was a former partner of Alexander. The men turned to a surrogate mother, reportedly a French lesbian, to have a child. Miss Jay continues to maintain a close relationship with his son, helping him in his personal growth. He even jokingly stated that his "fashion genes" must have been inherited by Boris.
Fans of "America's Next Top Model" speculate about Jay's favorite person being Manuel Jay. Contestants often referred to both Manuel and Alexander as "Jayme," "Mr. and Miss Jay," and the "Jay Couple" when the stylists appeared together. Whether their relationship is limited to professional ties or a secret romance remains a matter of speculation.
Alexander confidently handles being labeled with derogatory terms for homosexuality, but he is ready to fight if someone refers to him as a "white gay." He clarifies, "I am not white."
When asked how to gain confidence in a world that often hinders its development, the fashion designer stated, "I have never had problems with who I am. So, I usually say you just have to keep doing what you do. Be yourself. Others may look at you sideways and say strange things to you. As long as you like yourself, you can withstand all of that."
