Education and Legal Career
Oleksandr Kachura is a Ukrainian lawyer and politician who holds a plethora of degrees. He graduated from the International University of Finance in 2012 with a degree in International Management of Governance, followed by a second degree in Law from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" in 2013. Kachura also pursued a doctorate at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute from 2013 to 2016, successfully defending his dissertation early and graduating in 2016 with a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree. Additionally, he earned a degree in Political Science from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2015.
Kachura's legal career began in 2009, and he founded his own law firm in 2012. In 2017, his firm was renamed Kachura Lawyers, which has since become a leading provider in Ukraine's legal market. Kachura has represented notable clients including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Servant of the People party, and the Kvartal 95 company. His firm notably won a case to ban the TV series "Matchmakers" in the interest of Kvartal 95.
Political Involvement
Kachura actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity and provided volunteer support to volunteer battalions during the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Prior to his election to parliament, he was an expert at the Verkhovna Rada on amending the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He also served as a member of the public council at the Ministry of Justice.
In 2019, Kachura was elected to the Verkhovna Rada on the Servant of the People party ticket. He was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Organization of State Power, Local Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning as well as a deputy member of the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE.
Other Activities
Kachura actively promotes humanitarian causes. He joined the "Humane Country" inter-factional association in 2019, which advocates for animal protection. Additionally, he serves as co-chairman of the group for inter-parliamentary relations with Singapore and is the chairman of the Crimean Republican organization of the Servant of the People party.
Recognition
Kachura has been recognized as one of Ukraine's most promising politicians, ranking 25th in the top 100 prospective Ukrainian politicians of 2021.
Family
Oleksandr Kachura's parents, Anatoliy and Tamara Kachura, are both retired. His wife, Kateryna Kachura, is a private entrepreneur and television presenter. They have one daughter, Zlata, who was born in 2019. Kachura also has a sister, Oksana Kachura, who was born in 1978.
