Vakhtang Korisantia is a distinguished Georgian pianist whose exceptional talent has garnered international acclaim. Born and raised in Georgia, he showcased his musical prowess from a young age.

Musical Beginnings and Education

Korisantia's musical journey commenced with his studies at Tbilisi School No. 43. He subsequently pursued his higher education at the Tbilisi Conservatory, where he graduated in 1990 as a student of the esteemed pianist Tengiz Amirejibi.

International Success

In 1988, Korisantia made his mark on the global stage by triumphing at the Sydney International Piano Competition. His accolades continued in 1995 when he emerged victorious at the prestigious Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv.

Career in the United States

Since 1993, Korisantia has resided and worked in the United States. He initially trained at the piano studio of Alexander Toradze before embarking on a teaching career. Currently, he holds a professorship at the New England Conservatory.

Connection to Georgia

Despite his international success, Korisantia maintains a strong connection to his homeland, Georgia. In 1999, he was honored with the Georgian Order of Honor. Georgian television produced a documentary film about him in 2003. Moreover, he performed at the inauguration ceremony of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in 2004.
