Serhiy Popov
Ukrainian footballer Serhiy Popov, a defender, represented the Ukrainian national team and currently coaches the youth team of Shakhtar Donetsk.
Early Life and Career
Born in Donetsk, Ukraine, Popov began his football journey under the tutelage of coach Vitaliy Starukhin. He played for several Donetsk clubs, including Shakhtar Donetsk, Metalurh Donetsk, and Stal Alchevsk.
International Career
Popov made his international debut for Ukraine on September 11, 1994, in a friendly match against South Korea. He earned a total of 4 caps for the national team.
Club Career
In addition to his domestic career, Popov also played abroad for Levsky Sofia in Bulgaria and Sokol-Saratov in Russia. He made 5 appearances for the latter club.
