Biography of Luis Figo
Luis Filipe Madeira Caeiro Figo was born on November 4, 1972, in a working town called Almada, Portugal. He started playing football at a young age, joining the youth team of Sporting Lisbon when he was only 11 years old. His first coach, who had also coached the Portuguese national team, said that "Even then, Luis Figo was head and shoulders above everyone else."

In 1989, Figo finished third with the Portuguese youth team in the Under-16 World Championship in Scotland. Two years later, he won the Under-20 World Championship with the Portuguese national team. Throughout his career, Figo formed the heart of the team with Rui Costa and Joao Pinto.

At the age of 18, Figo made his debut for Sporting Lisbon. There, he gained worldwide fame, winning the Portuguese Cup and finishing second in the league. In 1995, at the age of 23, Figo moved to Spain and played for Barcelona, where he trained under the guidance of legends such as Johan Cruyff, Bobby Robson, and Louis van Gaal.

With Barcelona, Figo won the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish Super Cup, the Spanish league title in 1996, and two Spanish Cups in 1997 and 1998. However, his most notable achievement came at EURO 2000 in Belgium and the Netherlands. Figo was the heart and soul of the team, and his goal against England was the most beautiful of the championship. After EURO 2000, Figo said, "Without a sword, I only exist half."

In the summer of 2000, Figo caused a great disappointment to Barcelona fans by moving to their arch-rivals, Real Madrid. In his debut season with the club, he won the Spanish league title and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Figo quickly became beloved by the fans, and the technical director of Real Madrid said, "Even when Figo plays poorly, we think he is playing normally." In his free time, Figo enjoys playing golf, going to the movies, reading, horseback riding, and listening to music.
In 2001, Figo was recognized as the best football player in the world. However, his performances with the Portuguese national team in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea were disappointing, as the team failed to advance from the group stage. Despite these challenges, Figo remains a key figure both for Real Madrid and the Portuguese national team. In 2002, he helped Real Madrid win their first-ever UEFA Super Cup.
Overall, Figo's career has been marked by numerous achievements and accolades. He has played 65 games for the national team and has a market value of 180 million euros. Figo's jersey number is 10 for Real Madrid and 7 for the Portuguese national team. His favorite actors are Michael Douglas and Dustin Hoffman, while his favorite actresses are Michelle Pfeiffer and Kerr Otis. Figo is married to Helen Svedin, and they have a daughter named Daniela.
