Early Life and Education

Alexander Leonidovich Shevchenko was born in Ukraine. From 1986-1989, he excelled in his studies at Kolomyya Vocational School No. 14, earning a diploma with distinction. He went on to pursue higher education at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi State University from 1989-1995, graduating with a degree in Radio Engineering from the Faculty of Physics.

Professional Career

Shevchenko's professional journey began in 1989 as a 2nd-grade radio equipment assembler at Kolomyya Woodworking Plant. In 1995, he became a trade manager at Auskoprut. From 1997-2004, he served as the Director of Kvarta Private Enterprise. In 2004, he became the Director of Scorzonera LLC, the company that owns the renowned ski resort Bukovel.

Political and Public Activities

Shevchenko's involvement in public affairs and politics commenced in 2010 when he was elected to the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council. His initiatives and support for tourism development, social projects, and youth empowerment in the Carpathian region have earned him numerous awards at regional, national, and international levels.

As a member of the Regional Council's Permanent Commission on Environmental Protection and Tourism Development since 2010, Shevchenko has played a pivotal role in advancing the region's tourism industry. In 2012, he spearheaded a commission to explore the viability of hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

During the Euromaidan protests, Shevchenko provided unwavering support to the activists, offering financial and material resources. He established recreational and rehabilitation camps at the Bukovel Ski Resort for those injured during the demonstrations. Additionally, he organized wellness and leisure programs for families of military personnel displaced from Crimea.

Parliamentary Service

In 2014, Shevchenko made the decision to enter the political arena, running for a seat in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as an independent candidate in constituency No. 83. He was elected to the 7th convocation of parliament, where he served on the Committee for Economic Policy.

In the 8th convocation, Shevchenko joined the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction but later resigned in 2015. In 2018, he was included on Russia's sanctions list.

Personal Life

Shevchenko has been married and is the father of three daughters and three sons.
