Early Life and Education
Born on July 13, 1973, in Pokrovsk, Ukraine, Alexander Solovyov is a Ukrainian political and state figure. He holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in Public Administration. Solovyov received his high school education at Krasnoarmeiskaya Boarding School in 1988. Subsequently, he pursued a technical education at Selidovsky Mining College until 1992 and later attended the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine from 1998 to 2003. In 2005, he graduated from Donetsk State University of Management with a degree in organizational management. Solovyov's academic achievements culminated in the defense of his doctoral dissertation on the topic of improving mechanisms for state regulation of innovative processes in Ukraine and its regions in 2005.
Law Enforcement Career
Solovyov embarked on his professional career in 1996 as an operative for the Economic Crimes Department of the Krasnoarmeysk District Police Department. He swiftly rose through the ranks, becoming an operative for the Economic Crimes Department of the Krasnoarmeysk City Police Department in 1998. From 2000 to 2010, he served in the Tax Police, holding various leadership positions. He served as the Head of the Operational Department of the Donetsk Oblast Tax Police from 2004 to 2005 and continued to work in the Donetsk Oblast Tax Police Inspection until 2010. Solovyov's expertise and dedication led him to become the Deputy Head of the Department of Financial and Economic Security and Head of the Department of Documentation and Realization of Operative Materials at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in 2010. He held subsequent leadership roles in the State Service for Combating Economic Crime and the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine until 2012. Solovyov served as the Deputy Head of the Department of Operational Development and Head of the Department for Combating Organized Crime in the Economy of the State Service for Combating Economic Crime from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, he became the Deputy Head of the Department and Head of a division in the Economic Protection Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Political Career
Solovyov's political journey began in 2016 when he co-founded the political party "Reasonable Force," which was officially registered on July 1, 2016. In 2019, the party nominated Solovyov as a candidate for the Ukrainian presidential election. His candidacy was registered on February 8, 2019.
Personal Interests and Hobbies
Solovyov is an avid sportsman, particularly in weightlifting and powerlifting. He enjoys equestrian sports and attends show jumping competitions. Since March 2018, Solovyov has maintained a blog on Korrespondent.net.
