Childhood and Early Life

Alexander Zhovtis was born into a Jewish family in the home of his father, a lawyer named Lazare Borisovich Zhovtis, and his mother, Rozalye Isaakovna.

Evacuation and Kazakhstan

During the turmoil of World War II, in 1942, the entire Zhovtis family was forced to evacuate to the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic (Kazakh SSR). They chose to remain in Kazakhstan even after the post-war period.

Academic and Literary Career

Education and Professional Accomplishments

Zhovtis pursued scholarly endeavors, eventually obtaining a Doctor of Philological Sciences degree. He became a professor at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
