Oleksandr Yakovych Korol ("Korol") was born on February 7, 1947, in Kyiv, Ukraine. He graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1972 with a degree in control systems engineering. Despite his education, Korol is currently employed as a systems manager at "BigBoard Ltd."
Musical Journey
Although Korol has only a secondary musical education, he has demonstrated exceptional musical talent. He plays the piano and 7-string guitar and writes songs to both his own lyrics and those of renowned poets. His first song, "Ubejal iz Doma Malchugan," was composed in 1962, showcasing his early musical prowess.
Songwriting and Professional Collaborations
Korol has actively participated in music competitions and festivals, even serving as a juror on numerous occasions. As a songwriter, he has contributed to theatrical productions and collaborated with radio stations such as "Radio-Rocks Ukraine" and "Radio Maidan." His songs have received recognition and wide acclaim.
Leadership in the Author's Song Movement
In 1986, Korol became the leader of the Kyiv-based amateur music club "Arsenal." Under his guidance, "Arsenal" has fostered a vibrant community of singer-songwriters, supporting emerging talent and establishing itself as a hub for musical creativity.

Korol counts V. Vysotsky, L. Klyachkin, and B. Okudzhava among his favorite musical influences. In addition to his musical pursuits, he enjoys basketball and fencing as hobbies.
