Biography of Elena Kazantseva

Elena Vladimirovna Kazantseva was born on December 5, 1956, in Minsk. She is a Belarusian poet and singer-songwriter. Kazantseva completed five years of music school, specializing in piano. She later graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Energy at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute in 1981.

After her studies, Kazantseva worked at a factory, a design institute, and a research institute. From 1989 to 1991, she served as the head of the amateur song club at the Palace of Culture. In 1987, she joined the "Alley of AP" organization under the leadership of M. Volodin. It was during this time that Elena began writing songs based on her own lyrics.

In 1988, at the 2nd All-Union Festival of Author's Song in Tallinn, together with Mark Merman and Nikolay Kadol from Minsk, Kazantseva became an author laureate. Her talent as a songwriter was recognized and celebrated at the festival.
