Biography of Alexander Vozianov
Alexander Vozianov is a Ukrainian medical doctor, Doctor of Medical Sciences since 1978. He is a founding member of the Urological Scientific School. Vozianov has made significant contributions to the field of urology and has been recognized internationally for his work.
Early Life and Education
Alexander Vozianov was born on October 2, 1938, in Melitopol, Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. He attended the Kyiv Medical Institute, where he completed his medical education and graduated from the therapeutic faculty in 1962.
Professional Career and Achievements
In 1966, Vozianov began his career at the Kyiv Medical Institute, where he served as a medical professional. Throughout his career, he focused on urology and made significant contributions to the field. In 1970, he defended his candidate's dissertation on "Radioisotopic methods of diagnosis for certain urological diseases in children." Later, in 1978, he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Phunurology and Nephrology in Urological Patients in the Postoperative Period."
Vozianov has held numerous prestigious positions throughout his career. He became a professor in 1980 and was elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in April 1991. He further served as the President of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine from March 1993. Vozianov has also been a member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the chief editor of the "Journal of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" and the journal "Urology." He has directed the Institute of Urology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and has been the head of the Department of Urology at the National Medical University named after A. Bogomolets since 1981.
Vozianov's contributions to the field of medicine have been widely recognized. He is a member of several prestigious academies, including the New York Academy of Sciences (since 1996), the Brazilian Academy of Medical Sciences (since 1997), the Polish Academy of Medicine named after Schweitzer (since 1997), the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Republic of Belarus (since 1998), and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (since 2001). He is also a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (1986, 2001) and has been honored with the title of Merited Scientist of Ukraine (1986).
Personal Life and Honors
In addition to his professional achievements, Alexander Vozianov has received numerous honors and awards. He was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the President of Ukraine in 1996 and received the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 5th degree in 1998 and the 4th degree in 1999. Vozianov was also honored with the title of Hero of Ukraine in August 2000.
Moreover, he has been recognized by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with an Honorary Diploma in 2003 for his significant contributions to the field of medicine and science.
