Early Life and Education
Alexei Arestovich was born in Dedoplistskaro, Georgia, in 1975. He has Belarusian and Polish ancestry. In 1992, he graduated from Kyiv School No. 178 and enrolled in the biology faculty of Taras Shevchenko University. However, he left university in 1993 to pursue acting at the Kyiv theater-studio "Black Square."
Acting and Film
During the 1990s and 2000s, Arestovich acted in the "Black Square" theater and appeared in commercials and minor roles in 17 Russian and Ukrainian films, including "Mukhtar's Return," "Don't Be Afraid, I'm with You," and "Brother for Brother 2." In 2007, he co-founded the film production company Aegis Artist Group. In 2013, he appeared as a family psychologist and host in the TV show "Teach Us to Live" on ICTV.
Military and Political Career
Arestovich graduated from the Odessa Military Institute and holds a diploma in military translation. He served in the Main Intelligence Directorate from 1994 to 2005 and retired with the rank of Major.
In 2005, he joined the "Brotherhood" party and became deputy chairman under Dmytro Korchynsky. In 2009, he co-organized the civic initiative "Overthrow All," which aimed to address issues facing small and medium-sized businesses and truck drivers. He served as deputy chairman of the Primorsky District Administration of the Odessa City Council for three months before resigning.
Military Expert and Analyst
After the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, Arestovich began appearing regularly in the media as a military expert, providing analysis and commentary on the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine. He also blogged on Facebook and YouTube and participated in the "People's Reserve" program, training combat units.
From 2014 to 2017, he organized a charity fund to provide psychological support to soldiers in the ATO zone. In 2018, he served in the Joint Forces Operation near Kramatorsk as a scout in the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.
TKG and Presidential Advisor
In 2020, Arestovich was appointed an advisor on information policy and official speaker for the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk by Leonid Kravchuk. He played a role in negotiating a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.
Later that year, Andrei Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, appointed Arestovich as his non-staff advisor on strategic communications in national security and defense.
Views and Awards
Arestovich considers himself a supporter of the "project of a united Earth in the spirit of Teilhard de Chardin and Vernadsky" and shares Elon Musk's vision for the future of humanity. He emphasizes patriotism and the importance of supporting the Ukrainian language.
Arestovich has received several awards, including the "Defender of the Fatherland" commemorative badge from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the "Yevhen Bereziak" commemorative award, the "For Special Service" medal from the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation" distinction from the President of Ukraine, and the "Badge of Honor."
Personal Life
Arestovich is married to Anastasia Arestovich (née Gribanova), a development director for a publishing house. They have one son together, and Arestovich has a daughter from his first marriage.
