Early Career and Club Success

Aleksei Gai, a renowned Ukrainian footballer, first took the field as a midfielder with Olimpik Donetsk. With Olimpik, he made a significant impact, scoring 22 goals in 136 league appearances. His exploits on the pitch earned him a call-up to the Ukrainian national team.

Cherno Morets and Azerbaijan

In 2013, Gai joined Cherno Morets, where he remained for two years. He played under the iconic number 10 jersey and netted six goals in 27 Ukrainian Cup matches. In 2015, he moved to Azerbaijan's Gabala, coached by his former mentor from Cherno Morets, Roman Grygorchuk. During his time in Azerbaijan, Gai scored 14 goals in 51 league matches.

Kuban Krasnodar and Heroism

In 2016, Gai signed a two-year contract with Russian club Kuban Krasnodar. In a remarkable display of sportsmanship, he saved the life of an opponent, Mordovia forward Aleksandr Alkhazvov, during a match in 2017. For his heroism, Gai received a special award from the Russian Football National League.

International Career
