Orest Nalivayko was born in Ukraine. In 1985, he graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in civil engineering. Continuing his education, Nalivayko earned a degree in economics from the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" in 1996.
Business and Politics
From 1985 to 1991, Nalivayko worked as the director of the Ivano-Frankivsk Reinforced Concrete Plant. In 1992, he established and became the president of the private enterprise "Gal-Agro." Nalivayko also held the position of first vice president of the ZAO "Intergaz" from 1995 to 1997.
In 2003, Nalivayko became the head of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, a political organization. From March 2005 to May 2006, he served as the head of the board of directors of NAK "Naftogaz Ukrainy," a Ukrainian energy company.
Academic Achievements
Nalivayko completed his doctoral dissertation in 2001 at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. His dissertation explored "Peculiarities of Ukraine's Foreign Economic Policy in Conditions of Market Transformation." He also authored several scientific works, including "Ukraine in the System of International Relations" and "Prerequisites for Ukraine's Foreign Economic Activity as a Sovereign State."
Banking Controversy
Nalivayko and his family exercised complete control over PAT "Eurogazbank" as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. However, in June 2014, the bank ceased performing its obligations, and a temporary administration was appointed.
