Dr. Nikolai Konstantinovich Filatov was a prominent Soviet scientist and inventor. In 1965, he earned a doctorate in technical sciences and became a professor two years later. His exceptional contributions in the field of construction engineering were recognized with the State Prize of the USSR in 1984.

Dr. Filatov's expertise in building materials, concrete corrosion, and reinforced concrete structures brought him many accolades. He was honored as a Distinguished Scientist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (1980) and the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1974).
Technical Innovations
Under his leadership, the Bashkir Scientific Research Institute for Construction (BashNIISroy) became a national leader in pile foundation construction. He designed and implemented piling equipment (S-878, SP-49, KO-8, KO-16) and ground probing techniques to calculate the bearing capacity of soil foundations.

Dr. Filatov's innovations extended to pre-stressed reinforced concrete structures, construction technologies, and management methods. His research resulted in the adoption of new building materials from industrial waste and techniques for protecting structures from corrosion.
