Early Life and Musical EducationBorn into a musically inclined family, Alexey Zhigalkovich began singing at the tender age of five. His talent was nurtured by composer and vocalist Tatiana Nikolaevna Molchan, who became his first vocal instructor. At six, he enrolled in the School of Arts in Minsk, studying piano. After 2006, he honed his singing skills with renowned Belarusian musicians including Olga Vronskaya, Nelly Dushinskaya, and Petr Elfimov. Alexey's songwriting abilities emerged at the early age of nine.
Childhood Fame and EuroVision Success
As a young boy, Alexey performed as a soloist with the children's musical theater "Belarusinki." His exceptional rendition of "Opera No. 2" from Vitas's repertoire caught the attention of the television program "Funny People," leading to an encounter with Vitas himself. In 2005, Alexey made his first attempt at the Belarusian national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, finishing second with his song "Sunny Paradise."
Alexey's national recognition continued to grow as he joined the State Youth Musical Theater's children's vocal ensemble "Verasyata" and performed in various theater productions. At age 10, he became a regular participant in the State Musical Theater's performances.
In 2007, Alexey's star shone brightly on the international stage. He won the Belarusian national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with his self-penned song "S Druzyami" ("With Friends"). His captivating performance in Rotterdam, Netherlands, earned him the coveted victory, making him the first Belarusian to win the contest.
Artistic Background
Alexey's parents, Svetlana and Alexander Zhigalkovich, played a significant role in his musical upbringing. Svetlana, a violinist, and Alexander, an accordionist, instilled in him a love of music. Alexey's grandfather, a choir soloist, further inspired his artistic vision.
Education and Career Trajectory
After graduating high school with honors, Alexey enrolled in the Belarusian State Academy of Arts to pursue a degree in television directing. His passion for music, however, remained undiminished. He continued to perform and compose, releasing several successful songs.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Alexey enjoys playing billiards, bowling, and football. His musical influences include Breaking Benjamin, Ashes Remain, Professor Green, and 30 Seconds to Mars.
