Ali Asadov: Premier of Azerbaijan
Ali Asadov, the current Premier of Azerbaijan, has guided the nation since 8th October 2019.
Early Life and Education
Born in Baku on 30th November 1956, Asadov completed his schooling at Baku Secondary School No. 134 in 1974. He pursued higher education at the Moscow Institute of National Economy, graduating in 1978.
Military Service and Academic Career
Following his graduation, Asadov served in the Soviet Army from 1978 to 1980. Upon returning, he embarked on an academic career at the Institute of Economics, Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR as a chief laboratory assistant. From 1989 to 1995, he held the positions of an associate professor and head of a department at the Baku Institute of Social Administration and Political Science.
Political Career
In 1995, Asadov entered the political arena as a member of the Milli Mejlis, serving until 2000. On 17th April 1998, he was appointed as Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on Economic Affairs. In 2012, he was further elevated to Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.
Premiership
On 8th October 2019, with the approval of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov was appointed Premier of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
