Biography of Allison Mack

Allison Mack is an American actress best known for her role as Chloe Sullivan in the popular television series "Smallville". She was born in Preetz, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany to American opera singer Jonathan Mack and his wife Mindy. The family moved to Germany due to Jonathan's work, but returned to the United States two years later.

Early Career and Acting

Allison Mack first tried her hand at acting at the age of 4, appearing in a chocolate commercial. She also attempted to pursue a career in modeling, as her mother believed she had a talent for showcasing clothes. At the age of 7, Mack enrolled in acting classes in Los Angeles.

Her first significant role on television was playing a self-harming teenager in an episode of the series "7th Heaven". In 2000, Mack landed the lead role in the short-lived project "Opposite Sex" and appeared in the miniseries "The Nightmare Room" based on R.L. Stine's works. In 2001, she starred in the film "My Horrible Year!" directed by Eric Stoltz and appeared in "Camp Nowhere". It was also in 2001 that Mack first portrayed Chloe Sullivan, Clark Kent's best friend, in the series "Smallville". She continued to portray this character until the series ended in 2011.

Voice Acting and Directing

In the summer of 2006, Mack provided her voice for the sister of the main character in the animated film "The Ant Bully". Later that same year, she lent her voice to a character in the series "The Batman". In November 2008, Mack tried her hand at directing by helming an episode of "Smallville" titled "Power", which aired on January 29, 2009.

Theater and Recognition

Since May 2009, Mack has collaborated with the theater group "Iris Theatre Company", which has already showcased one of its projects at the Prague Fringe Festival. On September 29, 2009, the full-length animated film "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" was released, with Mack voicing the character Power Girl, Superman's cousin.

For her performance in "Smallville", Mack received seven nominations for the Teen Choice Award, two nominations for the Saturn Award, and one nomination for the SyFy Genre Award. She won the SyFy Genre Award and two Teen Choice Awards.
