Alicia Jasmine Debnam-Carey, fondly known as Alicia, was born on July 20, 1993, in Sydney, Australia. Her mother, Leonie Cary, worked as a television screenwriter, giving Alicia a glimpse into the world of entertainment. Growing up with her brother Angus, Alicia displayed a keen interest in the arts, particularly music. She excelled at playing the violin and later transitioned to percussion.
