The name "Amandla" is derived from the Zulu language, meaning "power" or "strength." Her father, Tom Stenberg, is a Danish businessman whose mother is from Greenland. At the time of his marriage to Karen, he had two older daughters from a previous relationship, making Amandla the youngest of three.

Acting Career

Amandla's acting debut occurred in 2002 with a commercial at the age of four. Her first film appearance was in the action thriller "Colombiana" (2011), where she played the younger version of Zoë Saldana's character.
