Carol Alt is an American supermodel and actress who achieved her first major success in the modeling industry in 1980 when she was featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine. Early Life and Education
Carol Alt, the third of four children, was born in East Williston, New York. Her mother, Muriel Alt, worked as a model before her marriage to Anthony Alt, who served as the chief of the New York Fire Department. Alt has two sisters, Christine, a model, and Karen, and a brother. She grew up in East Williston, New York and received her education at Wheatley School and Hofstra University.
Modeling Career
Alt's first major success in the modeling industry came in 1980 when she was featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine. However, it was her appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1982 that brought her real fame. Personal Life
In 1983, Alt married Ron Greschner, a professional ice hockey player for the New York Rangers. They divorced in 1996, and she is currently in a relationship with Russian ice hockey player Alexei Yashin, who is thirteen years younger than her. Yashin, who currently plays for the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv in Russia, denied being married to Carol Alt in an interview with ESPN in 2006, and instead stated that they are in a committed relationship.
