Amanur Manapbaev is a Kyrgyz opposition leader, political figure, and social activist known for his role in the 2021 Bishkek city council elections.

Early Life and Education

Born into a family with a strong political background, Manapbaev completed his schooling at the Eurasian Lyceum in Bishkek in 2014. He went on to earn a degree in Linguistics from the International University of Kyrgyzstan in 2019. During 2015-2017, he studied Chinese at the Confucius Institute of the Bishkek Humanities University. He later completed a master's degree in Linguistics at the Higher School of Magistracy, International University of Kyrgyzstan, in 2021. In 2019, he underwent special training in Moscow at the Political Studies Center of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in the State Duma.

Political Career

Manapbaev became actively involved in politics in 2014 when he joined the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan. In the 2021 Bishkek City Council elections, he played a pivotal role as a representative of the Communist Party, even though he did not run as a candidate himself.

Electoral Protests and Activism

Manapbaev's involvement in the elections brought him to prominence as an opposition politician. He participated in televised debates, notably against former Mayor of Bishkek, Nariman Tyuleev, where he gained significant support. Following the election results, Manapbaev led protests against alleged electoral fraud, demanding the nullification of the outcome.

International Relations

In 2014, Manapbaev represented Kyrgyzstan in an international conference on the integration of the CIS region. He also visited China on an official invitation from the Communist Party of China's International Department and the Chinese government.

Unity Initiative

Manapbaev played a crucial role in initiating a coalition between the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan and the BuTuN Kyrgyzstan party for the subsequent parliamentary elections. He stated that the parties' shared history and goals, particularly their desire to reshape the country's political system, motivated their alliance.

Family and Recognition

Manapbaev remains unmarried and has no children. He has received the prestigious "100 Years of the Leninist Komsomol" Order and the "75 Years of the Great Victory" Commemorative Medal for his contributions to society.
