Biography of Amber Renae
Early LifeAmber Renae Dowling was born in Brisbane, Queensland. She grew up in a family with four children, being the only girl among her three brothers - Paul, Grant, and Craig. Renae, surprisingly, is a qualified civil engineer, having obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Queensland. During and after her studies, she worked as a civil engineer for Leighton Contractors, where she was involved in designing and constructing major infrastructure projects, including the Pacific Motorway upgrade and the construction of a bypass road in Brisbane.
Transition to Fashion
In 2002, Renae made a career shift from road design to dress design and registered her own fashion brand called 'ARX'. The brand offered casual men's and women's clothing collections that were sold in stores across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Japan. The brand gained instant success and recognition when American socialite Paris Hilton became a fan and appeared on the cover of 'Who Magazine' wearing a dress from 'ARX' at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards.
Rise to Fame
In 2005, during the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in Sydney, Renae dressed Olympic swimmer Geoff Huegill in an 'ARX' outfit, and he walked the runway for her show, garnering significant press coverage. In 2007, Renae was invited to participate in the inaugural Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane and was invited to discuss fashion innovations with the Minister of Trade in the Australian government. The following year, Renae won the professional competition 'Cox Plate Fashion on the Field.'
Television Career
Despite not having formal education in fashion design, Renae was offered a spot on the second season of 'Project Runway Australia,' a popular reality show. Although she finished ninth in the competition, Renae quickly became a prominent media personality, appearing frequently on television and in national press. She began her career as a television presenter, interviewing celebrities such as Andie MacDowell and Melissa George, as well as fashion industry colleagues Dion Lee, Kate Sylvester, and the founders of 'Manning Cartel.' Renae also hosted radio shows on Nova FM and c913FM and recently hosted the fashion show 'Kiss My Style' on Kiss FM.
Current Work
Today, Renae works as a stylist for private clients, companies, corporations, and fashion brands. She collaborates with celebrities from the film, sports, and music industries, including personal trainer Michelle Bridges from 'The Biggest Loser' and actor Firass Dirani. Renae also conducts seminars where she shares her professional secrets with her audience. Since 2009, Renae has supported the Cancer Council Australia organization.
